Use these rules in your speech room to help outline expectations. Go over these rules on the first day of speech in depth. Talk about what it looks like to be safe, kind, and responsible. Don’t feel like you need to be limited to the examples on this page. Have your clients come up with their own examples of how it looks. Have the children role play the rules (if appropriate). Then, keep them posted nearby where your students can see them. If the child is engaging in inappropriate behavior, redirect the child to these rules and the expected behavior instead.
