- Get buy in: Help the child understand why it’s important to do the skill all the time
- Increase self awareness: Help them understand when they are or aren’t doing it
- Have them help come up with strategies to remember other times
In Classroom
- Have teacher and student help choose strategies that will remind student
- Ideas:
-Intermittent positive reinforcement by teacher
-Visual reminders in room (picture of your face)
-Pre-corrects by teacher
-Corrections by teacher
-Child makes journal entry at regular intervals about if remembering
-SLP eaves drops periodically
-Choose a buddy who will remind student
-Student and teacher rating after activities or end of day
