1.Speech Sound Production

  • Increase the number of the sounds that the child can say correctly in familiar structures (CV, VC, CVC, etc.)
  • Increase the number of structures that the child can say with familiar sounds (CVCV, CVCVCV, etc.)

2. Language Development

  • Address any language weaknesses that the child has such as grammar, syntax, vocabulary, etc.

3. AAC

  • If the child is using an AAC device or system, teach him how to use it to create more complex utterances and participate in classroom activities.

4. Prosody

  • Make sure the child understands basic prosody vocabulary, like rate, stress, intonation, etc.
  • Help the child use correct intonation, stress, and rate first in simple sentences and then gradually moving toward conversation
